“Did you leave any cookie cutters in the store?” Six got that it was exciting, but Lolo was taking things to the extreme, even for Lolo.

“It's our first Christmas with Nova!” Lolo exclaimed like Six was being the crazy one, while they unloaded enough sprinkles for a small bakery run by five year olds.

“It's not Christmas. It's Christmas eve, eve...”

“Christmas Adam,” Lolo interrupted with glee.

“Fine, Christmas Adam. And just for cookie making and dinner. She isn't even spending the night. And I feel the need to point out that she has already made cookies with her mother, her grandmother, and a group of her little friends. How excited is she going to be over cookie party number four?” Six tried to reason with Lolo or at least dampen Lolo's expectations. They weren't trying to be mean; Six just didn't want to see them disappointed.

“But we've never made cookies with her before,” Lolo pointed out, tottering about their tiny kitchen on six inch heels.

“We have never made cookies, period, and technically we aren't now. The fridge is half full of slice and bake. We are cookie decorating, which we have never done before either. A preschooler is going to be the most experienced person on this project.” Six slouched against said fridge with their arms crossed, daring Lolo to argue with such logic.

“Technically, Natanael will be there.” Lolo shooed Six out of the way to get to the drawer with the oven mitts. They were all sort of shocked when it was discovered they already owned some before the shopping extravaganza.

“He's a chef, he doesn't bake,” Six pointed out from their new spot by the dining table.

“Technically, he's not a chef yet either and I have a feeling he bakes. Have you seen him with pastries? No one makes such ungodly sex noises while eating baked goods and have not learned how to make them themselves.”

Six paused and then shook their head. “Quit trying to distract me. All I am saying is that perhaps any unopened sprinkles and unused cookie cutters should go back to the store when you are done destroying the kitchen.”

“If by destroying, you mean making fabulous.” Lolo grinned with arms spread wide theatrically. “And since when are you worried about spending money?”

“I always worry about money, but this is more of a space issue.”

“We'll make cookies again,” Lolo countered, while continuing to set up the kitchen. Lolo'd always had a flair for setting a scene.

Six sighed. “I still don't see why you needed a billion cookie cutters in three sizes.”

“They are all traditional Christmas shapes.”

“What do llamas, unicorns, and poop emojis have to do with Christmas?”

Lolo turned and put on their most serious face. “Let me regale you with the tale of the ghost of Christmas fabulousness...”

“No! No! You win! Enjoy your cookie party of Christmas most extra!” Six walked out the kitchen door while they still could with their sanity intact.

“It's Christmas most fabulous, you heathen!” Lolo called after them.
